About the Blog
Although I have mentioned it before, this blog is to record the development trials and tribulations of WordOwl, a search engine geared at comics.
As we go along you’ll see just how much fun - or not - being had with its development, and also what some might consider fun insights into how to build an application which is likely to need to scale to quite big (not as big as some, perhaps, but big nonetheless)
This journal started out life in LiveJournal, over at wordowl.livejournal.com and is still updated there too - automatically from this one. (Well, not all pages, such as this one, but all regular entries are, so if you’re an LJ user, feel free to friend and pick up the updates that way)
It’s also to record the stuff that happens along the way, too. For example, in July ‘08, I headed up to the London Film & Comic Convention, and met the artists behind one of the comics here.
It’s also a way for people to talk to me - I can build WordOwl, but some of the best parts have come to me as suggestions, rather than things I thought of myself.
So it’s all of that. It records how things are going, thoughts on development, thoughts and musings on the future, and comics in general and stuff like that. And anything I feel like spouting about, really.
